WHAT DOES 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE MEAN?

New members who are not completely satisfied with their YMCA membership will receive a full refund including joiner’s fee and dues when they cancel in writing within 30 days of joining date. 

WHAT IS THE Y’S CANCELLATION POLICY? 

You may cancel your membership at any time.  Credit card and bank draft accounts require a 15-day written notice; easy to use forms are available at any YMCA Welcome Center. 

WHAT IS THE MEMBER REFERRAL PROGRAM?

YMCA of Greater Boston members will receive one free month of membership when they refer a friend who joins and stays.  Our Welcome Center staff is happy to share more details on this terrific offer.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A METRO MEMBERSHIP?

A YMCA of Greater Boston Metro membership entitles you to use all 12 of our health and wellness facilities.  Many of our Ys feature unique amenities making visiting more than one site a must.

CAN I LEND MY MEMBERSHIP CARD TO SOMEONE ELSE?

No.  YMCA memberships are non-transferable to another person.  Only the card holder will receive access to our facilities.  Lost cards will be replaced for $5.00.

CAN I PUT MY MEMBERSHIP ON HOLD?

Yes.  EFT memberships may be placed on hold for up to three months in a one-year time period.  This request must be made in writing.  Easy to use forms are available at all YMCA Welcome Centers. 

WHY IS PHONE USE RESTRICTED IN THE YMCA?

The use of cell phones and other handhelds are permitted in designated areas only.  To ensure the privacy of all of our members, please refrain from using these devices in YMCA locker rooms and changing areas.  For your own safety please refrain from using personal devices while on any cardio or fitness equipment.

MAY I BRING A GUEST TO THE Y?

YMCA facilities are provided for the use of YMCA members.  Where permitted, guests must purchase a pass to use the facilities.  All guests 18 and over must present a valid photo ID and sign Entrance Waiver. 

DOES THE YMCA OF GREATER BOSTON HONOR THE AWAY PROGRAM?

Yes.  The YMCA of Greater Boston participates in AWAY (Always Welcome At YMCAs) program that allows YMCA members from other states to use other YMCA facilities if they have a current YMCA membership.  A reduced guest fee may apply so ask at the local Y Welcome Center about their guidelines for AWAY. 

WHAT IS MY Y IS EVERY Y?

All YMCA of Greater Boston membership locations will allow current YMCA members all other Ys in New England to use our facilities at no cost to the outside Y member. 

CAN I VOLUNTEER AT THE YMCA?

Yes.  Volunteers play a critical role in helping the YMCA fulfill our mission of service to the community.  We welcome any skill or time you may offer.  Please ask the staff at our Welcome centers about how you can become more involved. 

WHAT IS REACH OUT?

The YMCA of Greater Boston is a charitable organization.  Money raised through local YMCA Reach Out stays in the community and helps support scholarships for those in need including summer camp, membership, childcare, after school care, job training and teen leadership programs.  As an active member please consider giving to your Y’s annual Reach Out campaign to help children and families at your Y. 

WHAT IS THE CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY?

The YMCA reserves the right to make schedule changes to better serve our members or to combine /cancel classes due to low enrollment.  If the YMCA chooses to cancel a class, participants will be issued a credit or cash refund in full. 

Classes missed by participants due to personal reasons will not be credited or refunded except when accompanied by a doctor’s note.  Requests for program credits that are made after the first class will be issued; however, credits will not be issued beyond the second class.  Only credits will be issued for the cost of the cancelled program. 

The YMCA of Greater Boston reserves the right to terminate your membership for violation of any rule or regulation or inappropriate behavior toward any member, program participant or Y employee.  The member understands that such judgments will be made by the YMCA in its sole and absolute discretion.
